Ling Wang is an independent researcher and writer specializing in population policy, fertility ethics, and demographic transition. Her work examines how state-enforced reproductive policies shape individual decision-making, cultural attitudes toward life and family, and long-term social outcomes. She integrates empirical documentation, qualitative narrative, and ethical analysis to advance understanding of fertility behavior beyond conventional quantitative models.
Her current research focuses on three areas:
- The human and ethical consequences of China’s one-child policy and its enduring demographic legacy
- Interdisciplinary frameworks for understanding fertility behavior, incorporating cultural, psychological, and religious dimensions
- Cross-cultural and community-based research on fertility attitudes among Chinese immigrant populations in the United States
