John-Paul Heil is a MTS student in marriage and family at the Pontifical John Paul II Institute. He received his doctorate in history from the University of Chicago in 2022 with a dissertation on Renaissance Naples. Between 2019 and 2021, he served as an adjunct professor of history and the liberal arts at Mount St. Mary’s University, his alma mater. Between 2021 and 2022, he completed a Fulbright open study award in Modena, Italy. His research interests include the intellectual history of virtue and connections between cosmology, anthropology, and ethics in the Catholic intellectual tradition.
