Father Lawrence Lew O.P., a native of Malaysia, is a teenage convert to Catholicism who has lived and worked in three continents. He currently lives in Blackfriars in Oxford, England, having joined the English Dominicans in 2005. He has a degree in English civil law, and before joining the Order he was a diocesan seminarian in England, and then a lay missionary in the slums of Manila, the Philippines. His theological
formation as a Dominican friar took him to Cambridge, Oxford, and the Dominican House of Studies in Washington DC. He has been a university chaplain in Edinburgh, served for 7 years as Rector of the Rosary Shrine, London and then concurrently as Pastor and Prior there for 3 years. Since 2019 Fr Lawrence has been the Dominican Order’s global Promoter General of the Holy Rosary, and he travels internationally leading pilgrimages, and giving parish retreats and missions, workshops on Our Lady,
the Rosary and prayer, and using photography, sacred art, and beauty as instruments of evangelisation. Fr Lawrence’s photos are updated daily on flickr. com/photos/paullew, and he actively promotes beauty and the Gospel on social media through Instagram, X, and Facebook. He is a published author with the Catholic Truth Society and Our Sunday Visitor, and his third book on signs and symbols in Catholic churches was published in 2024.
