David Cloutier is Professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame, where he is also a Fellow of the Business, Ethics, and Society Program at the Mendoza College of Business. Dr. Cloutier’s work engages Catholic social thought, with a special focus on economic and environmental issues. His award-winning books include The Vice of Luxury: Economic Excess in a Consumer Age (Georgetown University Press) and Walking God’s Earth: The Environment and Catholic Faith (Liturgical Press). He has published numerous popular articles in Commonweal and America, and writes a quarterly column on Catholic social issues for U.S. Catholic magazine.
