D.C. Schindler is Professor of Metaphysics and Philosophical Anthropology at The John Paul II Institute on the campus of The Catholic University of America. Before coming to the JPII he taught at Villanova University as one of the founding members of the Humanities Department.
He is one of the editors of the American edition of Communio, and a board member of the journals The Review of Metaphysics and New Polity, as well as of the College of St. Joseph the Worker. Professor Schindler has published more than seventy articles and a dozen books addressing current cultural problems by drawing on the insights of the classical philosophical tradition. His current project is a book entitled Authority and Its Counterfeits: A Political, Poetical, Philosophical and Theological Theory. Professor Schindler was elected President of the American Catholic Philosophical Association for the year 2025-26. He lives in Hyattsville, MD, with his wife, Jeanne, and three children.
