Afghani Barakzai is an International Development Professional | Talent Acquisition | Program Management | Project Design. Currently, overseas Talent Acquisition department Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington. Prior to that, she worked in Humanitarian programs, and held positions as Project Manager for Mobile Money Program and Senior Administrator at Community Development Program (CDP)-USAID. She was also a Visiting Fellow in the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University. Afghani holds degrees from Kabul University and Georgetown University, and certificates from Arizona State University and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). Afghani wrote articles in the Washington Post about the Afghan women’s need to feel the power of the purse and a full withdrawal of U.S. and coalition forces from Afghanistan. She is completing the M.A. in Human Rights at Catholic University as a part-time student.
