Nicholas Swanson is a PhD student in economics at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, and a fellow of the Adam Smith Program within the university’s Department of Economics. He has also served as a lecturer in political economy at the Busch School of Business at The Catholic University of America. His research interests include classical liberalism, Adam Smith, the history of economic thought, and the intersection of Catholic social teaching with economics. Nicholas holds an MA in economics from George Mason University, where he was honored as an outstanding graduate student, and a BA in history and Hispanic studies, summa cum laude, from Catholic University.
