The worldwide commitment to human rights should “guarantee that human rights will become throughout the world a fundamental principle of work for man’s welfare.” - Pope Saint John Paul II

The Institute for Human Ecology at The Catholic University of America is offering a new degree program at a pivotal time in history.

Our Master of Arts in Human Rights is an interdisciplinary graduate degree for people serious about fundamental human rights for all.

Graduates of our program will quickly become leaders in human rights and Catholic social thought at international organizations, NGOs, and government institutions.

The MA in Human Rights will offer courses from departments within the School of Arts and Sciences, as well as from the Schools of Philosophy, Canon Law, Theology and Religious Studies, and Law. This interdisciplinary degree program is unparalleled in its integration of Church teaching with modern concerns of the political order and the human person.

International organizations are increasingly in need of leaders who can develop and implement human rights policies that are effective, as shown by positions titled Product Policy Director, Human Rights, and Director of Human Rights.
